Suroy- suroy: Side Trip to Sirao Flower Farm, Balamban

There was a time when this small farm place in Sirao, Balamban became famous for its flowers. After being shared in the social media, people had rushed to see this place and had their pictures taken. The owners even had to delay its harvest for they earn more by letting the tourists pay twenty(20) pesos  as entrance fee. Unfortunately, some plants were destroyed by irresponsible tourists who thinks getting the perfect selfie is way more important than keeping the plants unharmed.

Now, it's been months since the fame of this beautiful place boomed and the farmers had already planted a new set of flowers. It was my first time in this place and I was indeed in awe to see the view in this place, the flowers and everything else!
It was Christmas Day when my friends and I came to visit this place. It was very exciting since we also just had our annual gift- giving in the neighbouring sitio. We took our lunch here and the people were really hospitable. They even allowed us to have our pictures taken without paying the entrance fee. There were no other tourists there except for us and another group who came before us.

The flowers were really beautiful and unique. They didn't have petals but it has bright colours of red and yellow which they say are flowers of the sacred and miraculous Snr. Sto. Nino.  I just hope next time, tourists make sure they leave the place as it is. I also hope they value the hard work of the farmers and appreciate the beautiful bounty our Lord has blessed us.
