Suroy- suroy: Anniversary Special in Samboan x Guinatilan + Moalboal (Panagsama and Basdaku Beach)
Seriously though! I thought the bus ride from Samboan to Moalboal would only take an hour but woah! Two hours was just mind- numbing and butt numbing as well. Bam and I decided to spend the night of our anniversary in Moalboal, a famous beach hub in the province.

Day 2
9:00- 10:00am- Breakfast
10:00- 12:00pm- Basdaku, Moalboal
12:00 pm- travel back to the city.
After eating barbecue for dinner at the market, we took a tricycle asked the driver to take us to Moalboal's Backpackers Lodge. It's important to talk to the locals to know more about the place and that was what exactly we did. We conversed with the tricycle driver and he suggested that we can stay somewhere else cheaper. He said it has a TV with cable connection, WIFI, and even said we can sleep comfortably! So, we asked him if we could go see it and indeed, everything he told us exists! We paid our fair and the motorcycle driver left us. He told us he's just going to tell the owner that he escorted us and that the owner is just going to ask for the payment the next morning.
We were a bit in shock and at the same time excited that we went out, locked the door and surveyed what's around the neighbourhood. Honestly, I was expecting a little like what we had in Malapascua Island but everything here was just so spendy. We ordered pizza in a restaurant and a banana split for dessert. Hehe! Suddenly, we're on a candle- lit dinner, FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY! YEY!
When we went back to where we were going to stay, we found out that the TV didn't actually work and we had to go outside to be able to connect to the wifi. Beer, pizza, radio and each other's company were all we had.
We woke up around 9am scared of the sound of the trees swaying because of the gusty wind. There was a storm coming and I thought it'd catch up on us and rain hard. So we just changed to our rash guards and kept everything important in our dry bag. I was surprised when I saw the water on a high tide! I can't wait to swim. I was more surprised when I found out that there were no long shorelines in Panagsama. I mean, it was on a high tide so I didn't find any. Bam and I then decided to just visit Basdaku Beach. We found a tricycle, agreed on price and then drove off!
Basdaku is far from Panagsama. I think we traveled for 20-30 minutes but it was definitely worth it when we arrived in the beach. We paid the entrance fee and without hesitation, jumped into the warm sea water and shot some photographs.
The bad weather wasn't bad after all. We had sun, big waves and everything was just fine. It was just the two of us enjoying the water. Bam was definitely happy.
We stayed for an hour and made our way back to Vivian's Nipa Hut where we stayed. I honestly can't believe out trip was over. It felt insufficient. It felt like there's a need for more! I definitely learned a lot about our trip in Moalboal. If you want sand then just directly go to Basdaku. Also, if you want to look for places where you can stay overnight, don't search over the internet, ask the locals for they know the place.
We left Panagsama Beach at 12:30pm, didn't even bother eating our lunch and took a non-airconditioned bus home. What mattered is that Bam and I didn't spend on material things for our anniversary instead, we spent money on memories. The one's we can keep forever. I'm definitely going back to Basdaku, with Bam of course!
