Storya: Christmas Feels

It's that time of the year again where everybody goes to the mall and buys something for their manito or manita. The season for gifts, parties, simbang gabi, family reunions, students going home to their relatives in their provinces.
I love this season! Full of love and joy, excitement and surprises! It really is the season to be jolly. Last year, I, together with my friends went to Medellin for our Christmas Gift Giving (Read about our trip to Medellin here..) This year, we intend to do the same to the children of Daan Bantayan. In this post, I'm going to write about the preparations we are doing before we head out to Daan Bantayan.

1. COLLECTING HUGS!
This is the most important part during the preparation phase because this is the highlight of the program! The kids that we are going to share our hugs with are the kids who are most affected by the natural calamities in our region. Last year, Yolanda devastated a big part of central visayas including the northern part of Cebu. This year, Ruby rushed strong winds and again affected the same people. That is why, we want to collect as much as we can so we could share and at least, make them feel secured with HUGS!

Also, I would like to thank the people who whole- heartedly shared their stuffed toys even if some of them mean so much to you, even if some of their have their own sentimental value. Thank you for sharing this Christmas!

2. SLIPPERS
This is also important because these kids maybe are the most unfortunate. They probably don't have anything else to protect their feet. We have seen kids walking around barefoot so, we took it as an opportunity to give more.

3. LOOT BAGS
We all love candies right? Most especially the kids. They are easy to please so maybe giving junk foods and candies is a good idea:)

4. PACKED FOOD
Last year, we prepared food like spaghetti, bam-e, and puso at home and it consumed most of our time that is why we left for Medellin late. I think we're going to contact the team who are based in Daan Bantayan to save time.

So there you have it. I think I'm just nervous on what's going to happen tomorrow. I pray it won't rain. It'll hassle us and the kids. I hope by the time we get there, everything will be ready for our little Christmas Give-A-Hug Party!
