Suroy- suroy: Badian, Cebu (Kawasan Falls)

Its the time of the year in the Philippines when the sun shines so bright and the weather becomes extremely warm. People from the city travel to places near or far to find ways on how to beat the summer heat with a twist of adventure. Bam and I are ready for the challenge!

Badian is located at the Southwestern part of the island of Cebu next to Moalboal if you pass by the route of Barili. It is home to the famous Kawasan Falls and the new tourist destination, the public beaches of barangay Lambug which I have visited before with my CAFA friends.  In our adventures, I am always the one who searches the web for possible adventure- worth places. I decide where to go, what to do, and what to bring. Bam takes care of our money. She prepares the budget and makes sure that we don't spend too much. It's a balanced relationship you see ;)
In this trip, we decided to tag along some friends of mine; my high school friends Patricia and Karl, my brother Marco and his girlfriend Chrije. All four of them are all adventure seekers!

KAWASAN FALLS
In case you don't know where to stop, simply ask the bus conductor to drop you off by Kawasan Falls. By the time we went off the bus, a guy was mysteriously following us and we didn't even bother to ask why. He waited for us even if we had to stopover the nearest public toilet. You can take a habal- habal in case you don't want to walk your way to the 1 Kilometer trek to the first level of the falls. In our case, 1km isn't that bad. The guy who was following us finally talked and asked us if we wanted to hire a raft which could take us under the waterfall. You can have a free massage with the water. He turned out to be a local guide and a was kind enough to offer us help. He helped us find a cottage to rent, he even help us with the grilling. He watched our things while we swam and we were completely safe. Here's some pictures of our Kawasan trip.

The Kawasan Falls has 3 levels and the pictures above show the 1st level. During the peak season, this level tends to be a little bit crowded. Rooms are for rent as well as cottages.

This is me and Bam. In our background is the 2nd level of the Kawasan Falls. Compared to the 1st level, less people trek here because of its location. Cottages and rooms for rent are available too. What make's this level better than the first are the activities people can enjoy.

All of us had the guts to jump this 3- storey rock formation. We have to swim across the raft and climb our way up to the top with only the roots of the trees to hold on to. We sure did enjoy the jump except some of us had to wait for 10mins just to be able to jump. Ha!

Patricia and Karl are quite a swimmer. They swam closer to the waterfall and were lucky enough to hold on to the raft present at that time. WARNING!: DON'T SWIM TO THE WATERFALL IF YOU'RE NOT A GOOD SWIMMER. THERE IS A STRONG CURRENT CLOSE TO WHERE THE WATER FALLS.

We also tried the rope swing. The locals are friendly enough to cheer you up to make it! We all did it as well. That's Karl!
